43rd annual event to star six Cadillac choices and many top achievers.
Ah, that touch of pink! So stunning, especially when it is the color of a brand new Cadillac. For more than 40,000 stellar Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants, Independent Sales Directors and Independent National Sales Directors, that new car smell will be as entrancing as the companys many fragrance products. For the Pink Cadillac is the pinnacle of sales success.
The 43rd annual Mary Kay Cosmetics Inc. Seminar, held at the Dallas Convention Center from July 18 through August 4, is heaven on earth for the Mary Kay performers from the U.S. and more than two dozen of the companys international markets. They come from as far away as Russia and China, a pilgrimage to the city where a dynamo named Mary Kay Ash first sold her facial cream out of a 500-square-foot storefront in 1963 with only nine Independent Beauty Consultants. Today, more than 1.7 million people worldwide own their own Mary Kay businesses.
Each Seminar shimmers with success.
There are five Seminars in all: Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire and Pearl. Each is a four-day event packed with consultant education, entertainment and pure excitement. This years theme is Be A Star, very fitting indeed. What we mean is that any consultant can be a star in their own right with great sales, says Ron Trammell, Mary Kay Inc. Vice President of Special Events. And the very top stars will shine brightly when they are recognized onstage in the Queens Court.
Seminar atmosphere is heady with motivation as Independent Sales Directors and other speakers share their personal whats-worked-for-me tips. There are even spouses classes so husbands can get a handle on their wives beauty business, as well as booths that provide countless sales materials. When new Mary Kay products are unveiled for the first time, the applause will be deafening. But perhaps not as thunderous as when Independent Beauty Consultants initially glimpse at the six models of Pink Cadillacs they can earn the use of, lined up majestically in the lobby areas stretching from Hall A to Hall D!
This is a Mary Kay first, says Mr. Trammell. We have now gone from two to six models: the STS, SRX, Escalade, DTS, CTS and the sporty XLR.
Queens reign supreme.
Queens are crowned for top sales production, personal sales, a court of sharing (bringing in the most new consultants), the Circle of Achievement and the summit: the Circle of Excellence. The Prestige Groupthe very top performersreceive a trip to reward their accomplishments. This year the group will travel to Copenhagen and Stockholm.
The Dallas Convention Center has just been sensational, both as a venue and in catering to our every whim, notes Mr. Trammell. Certainly Mary Kay Cosmetics is one of the largest annual conventions in the Dallas Convention Center and in all Dallas, but with DCC convention service reps, everything goes so smoothly. We have 750,000 square feet, just about taking over the Convention Center for the entire month.
If there is one thing Ron Trammell hopes to impress upon attendees at this years Seminar, it is that Mary Kays legacy of teaching and inspiring women to do their best will live on. Says Ron, the most tenured employee next to Mrs. Ashs son, Richard Rodgers (Ron started in 1965), Women succeed in greater numbers with Mary Kay because Mary Kays wisdom will never go out of style.
